About Us

The Sunday Leave Pass Social Club is a small group of guys who meet once a month to play golf & escape from the family for a few hours while they try to play golf and have a few beers and a joke.

The club meets usually on the fourth Sunday of every month at a variety of different golf courses all over Melbourne.

A monthly competition is held with a prize for the overall winner on the day plus prizes for Nearest to Pin on every par 3 hole plus a designated longest drive competition hole.

An annual points competition runs for the season where all players are allocated points each month according to their monthly finish position. The winner of each month is given 15 points, 14 points for the runner up, 13 points for 3rd position (etc). Any player who participates and finishes outside the top 14 is awarded 1 point. The player with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the seasons champion.

Every month a skins competition is held amongst the entire field, any player who scores more Stableford points on a hole than the rest of his competitors wins a skin. If more than one player has the same score on the same hole then the hole Jackpots and the skin value accumulates until an overall winner is found. All skins are later redeemed for Raffle tickets for the end of year Raffle draw.

At the end of each year the club go on a Weekend Golf Trip away which entails the final round of the season competition on the Saturday morning, and also a battle for the Champion of Champions.

The Champion of Champions event is played off by all of those players who won a monthly title through out the year. It is played off based on a stableford points competition over 9 randomly selected holes.

On the Sunday of the golf trip players compete for the Beer and Berrocca shield which is a pairs teams Ambrose Competition.

A Raffle is held at the end of the year where players can win a variety of different golf prizes. All of the money that is raised throughout the season via club fee’s, sponsorship and bar sales is returned in the way of raffle prizes at the end of the year so the club starts with a zero $$$$$ balance each year. To make things fair for all participants, an individual player can only win 1x prize in the raffle so if they are drawn out more than once then they can choose the prize of greater value and the lesser prize is drawn again.
