Centenary Park

Well Centenary Park was a great day out for some and for others it was a lesson in the pain of golf. The course was in great condition although it was generally agreed the greens were a little lumpy. Gossip is that the Cooper family had contenders at either end of the leaderboard. Poor Thomas apparently getting a lesson on how golf can give you amazing lows as well as the highs. Although he seemed philosophical and had a pretty good day socially if not athletically.

Newell is well on his way to completing the challenge set by Stu at Barham when he won the Champions of Champions. “You better get bloody good use out of this jacket or else!” was the statement.

This challenge was accepted and although Newell is a lightweight, he has collected 16 beverages of his 44 possible “taps on the shoulder”. Now he can rest on his laurels and at a rate of 2 per round from now on, should get everyone!

Thanks to the Centenary Park golf shop for having good beer and supplying the BBQ. I highly recommend Dainton Beer. Especially their Vienneipa fancy icecream cake IPA.
